Regular Season Round 18: Rubon - Borisfen 65-78

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vitebsk. First ranked Borisfen faced 3rd ranked Rubon. Guests from Mogilev (16-1) defeated host Rubon (12-6) 78-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rubon. It looked good early as Rubon took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Borisfen had a 25-20 second period charge getting the lead and Rubon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-78. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rubon to just 6 points in third quarter. Borisfen dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rubon's 28. It was a good game for American forward Marcanvis Hymon (203-95, college: Ole Miss, agency: One Motive Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Ilya Sharipov (198-91) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Borisfen's coach Andrei Krivonos used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Victor Ovsepyan (202-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Rubon. Borisfen have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-1 record. Rubon at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Borisfen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rubon will play on the road against Tsmoki-Minsk U20 and hopes to get back on the winning track.
