Regular Season Round 14: ToPo Juniorit - HBA-Marsky 103-55

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked ToPo Juniorit as it allowed them to take a leadership position. ToPo Juniorit smashed 7th ranked HBA-Marsky in Helsinki 103-55. The game without a history. ToPo Juniorit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to HBA-Marsky's 18. ToPo Juniorit forced 22 HBA-Marsky turnovers and outrebounded them 40-23 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. ToPo Juniorit looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by HBA-Marsky's players. Forward Eldar Skamo (198-86) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists and 8 steals. Point guard Miki Kuusisto (194-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. Five ToPo Juniorit players scored in double figures. Forward Eino Pallijeff (201-4) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Ville Karhu (181-4) added 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for HBA-Marsky. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. HBA-Marsky at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. HBA-Marsky will play next round against Jyvaskyla BA trying to get back on the winning streak. ToPo Juniorit will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Tapiolan Honka on the road.
