Rather predictable result in Torrenovese where second ranked Bisceglie (13-3) defeated 5th ranked Torrenova (9-6) 82-70 on Saturday. Bisceglie dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Torrenova's 22. Point guard Simone Giunta (185-0) fired 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Edoardo Fontana (193-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Dario Zucca (203-96) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and swingman Donato Vitale (185-98) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Torrenova players scored in double figures. Torrenova's coach Maurizio Bartocci rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bisceglie maintains second position in B with 13-3 record having just one point less than leader Vigevano, which they share with Cremona. Loser Torrenova dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Bisceglie will meet at home Ragusa (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Torrenova will play against R.Calabria in Reggio Calabria and hope to secure a win.
