Regular Season Round 17: Orleans - Monaco 78-97

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventeenth ranked Monaco and 18th ranked Orleans had identical 2-11 record. But Orleans was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Monaco 97-78 on Saturday night. Monaco dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Orleans' 44. Monaco forced 25 Orleans turnovers. Strangely Orleans outrebounded Monaco 41-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Monaco center Jordan Ratton (203-1) nailed 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winning side and forward Matys Pommier (196-2) accounted for 12 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Philippe Correia (203-1) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Andy Sigiscar (203-4) added 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for Orleans in the defeat. Monaco (3-11) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Nanterre. Loser Orleans stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Monaco will meet at home higher ranked Levallois (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orleans will play against Le Mans (#12) and hope to secure a win.
