Regular Season Round 20: Anwil - Slask 97-89
Date: January 22, 2022
Very expected game when 6th ranked WKS Slask (10-8) lost to second ranked Anwil (15-4) in Wloclawek 89-97 on Saturday. The winners were led by American-Palestinian Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Slash Sports) who scored that evening 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) and American guard Jonah Mathews (190-98, college: USC) supported him with 20 points and 7 assists. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Anwil's coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 19 points and 8 assists by American point guard Travis Trice II (183-93, college: Michigan St.) did not help to save the game for WKS Slask. Bosnian-Croatian Ivan Ramljak (203-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Four Anwil and five WKS Slask players scored in double figures. Anwil have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Czarni. Loser WKS Slask dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Trefl. Anwil will meet at home Asseco Arka (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. WKS Slask will play against the league's leader Czarni (#1) and hope to secure a win.
