Not a big story in a game in Saulkrasti where bottom-ranked Dimantu ak. (0-9) was outplayed by fourth ranked Ridzene (7-3) 85-40 on Saturday. The game without a history. Ridzene led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dimantu ak. to just 3 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. Ridzene dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dimantu ak.'s 16. Ridzene forced 43 Dimantu ak. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Dimantu ak.'s players. Guard Liva Gode (170-4) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Latvian guard Elina Briede (167-5) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Guard Lita Guslens (181-5) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Latvian forward Beate Feldmane (173-3) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ridzene have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Dimantu ak. still closes the standings with nine games lost. Ridzene's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga BJBS RJ 2.
