No shocking result in a game when third ranked Getxo (12-4) edged at home 11th ranked Valle de Egues (7-11) 76-75 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was center Asier Gonzalez (198-0) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Mikel Fernandez (-98) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Javier Lacunza (203-94, college: FAU) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Alex Calvo (180-91) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Valle de Egues players scored in double figures. Valle de Egues' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Getxo maintains third place in Group A-A with 12-4 record having just two point less than leader Lliria. Loser Valle de Egues keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Getxo will meet Mondragon (#4) on the road in the next round. Valle de Egues will play against Ardoi (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
