Very predictable result in Seu D'urgell where fifth ranked Cadi La Seu (10-6) defeated 12th ranked Ferrol (4-11) 60-54 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cadi La Seu outrebounded Ferrol 42-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Mikayla Pivec (178-97, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Irati Etxarri (187-98) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Taylor Koenen (188-98, college: UNC, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Natalia Rodriguez (173-99) added 10 points respectively. Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cadi La Seu maintains fifth position with 10-6 record. Ferrol lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Gran Canaria and Bembibre. Cadi La Seu will meet Ensino (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ferrol will play against Gran Canaria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
