Bottom-ranked Maccabi Rishon managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of four consecutive losses. This time they won against sixth-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona in Nes Ziyona 79-68. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import swingman Anthony Brown (199-92, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St.) came up with 20 points and naturalized Welsh Tal Dunne (198-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. Four Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon maintains twelfth place with 3-11 record. Ironi Nes-Ziona at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Maccabi Rishon will play against higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
