There was no surprise when 13th ranked Pesaro (6-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked Trieste (9-6) 89-78 on Sunday. Trieste shot 62.7 percent from the field. Trieste had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Trieste especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 68.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American point guard Corey Davis (185-97, college: Houston) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 assists for the winners and naturalized Argentinian center Marcos Delia (209-92, agency: Players Group) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Trieste players scored in double figures. American forward Tyrique Jones (206-97, college: Xavier, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Tyler Larson (191-91, college: S.Dakota) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trieste maintains third place with 9-6 record having four points less than leader Milano, which they share with Trento. Loser Pesaro keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Trieste will meet Treviso (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pesaro will play against Treviso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
