Regular Season Round 14: BJBS RJ - Neptunas 61-79

Everything went according to plan in Riga where fourth ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (10-3) won against 11th ranked Latvian BJBS RJ (2-13) 79-61 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-61. Neptunas forced 19 BJBS RJ turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-0) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian Ligita Tamutyte (177-99) chipped in 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Neptunas players scored in double figures. Latvian center Nikola Priede (186-3) responded with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Carlote Petersone scored 7 points. BJBS RJ's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Neptunas moved-up to third place, which they share with Liepaja/LSSS. BJBS RJ lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Neptunas will meet at home league's leader TTT Riga in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BJBS RJ will play against the league's second-placed Kibirkstis (#2) and hope to secure a win.
