Everything went according to plan in Corneliano d'Alba where sixth ranked Langhe Roero (9-6) beat 9th ranked Livorno Pielle (6-9) 73-64 on Sunday. Langhe Roero made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Langhe Roero outrebounded Livorno Pielle 48-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. Guard Castellino Nicolo (190-2) fired 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Luca Antonietti (198-94) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Four Langhe Roero players scored in double figures. Guard Gian Marco Drocker (186-1) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Giovanni Lenti (200-96, agency: BIG) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Langhe Roero maintains sixth position in B with 9-6 record. Livorno Pielle at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. Langhe Roero will meet Sangiorgese (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Livorno Pielle will play against the league's second-placed San Miniato (#2) and hope to secure a win.
