The game in Kopavogur supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Haukar (6-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Breidablik (4-11). Haukar smashed Breidablik 97-70. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. Breidablik was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haukar had a 40-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Keira Robinson (175-94, college: VCU) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. International swingman Briet Hinriksdottir (174-96) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Haukar's coach Bjarni Magnusson felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Isabella Sigurdardottir (187-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Micaela Kelly (168-98, college: CMU) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Breidablik. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Haukar maintains fifth position with 6-4 record. Breidablik at the other side keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Haukar will play against bottom-ranked Skallagrimur (#8) in Borganes in the next round. Breidablik will play on the road against Valur in Reykjavik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
