Regular Season Round 13: Lavrio - Peristeri 52-75

The most shocking disappointment of round 13 in the A1 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Lavrio (5-7) by eighth ranked Peristeri (6-6) who outscored them by 23 points 75-52. The game was mostly controlled by Peristeri. Lavrio managed to win fourth quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Vassilis Christidis (200-98, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: EKU) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international center Dimitrios Kaklamanakis (205-94) responded with 13 points and guard Alexandros Nikolaidis (190-2) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Peristeri moved-up to fifth place, which they share with AEK. Lavrio at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Peristeri will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lavrio will play at home against Larissa BC (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
