An interesting game was played in Tbilisi where Gtuni beat host Zestaponi 104-90 on Monday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 56-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Gtuni looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Jamani Pierce (200-96, college: ENMU) stepped up and scored 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and guard Seth Swalve (180-97, college: UAH, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Swalve is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Jarrett Henderson (198-96, college: UWF) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and forward Niko Bevens (198-98, college: Alaska-Anch.) scored 24 points (made all of his seven free throws). Five Gtuni and four Zestaponi players scored in double figures. Gtuni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Kavkasia.
