There was a surprise result when tenth ranked La Rochelle (10-11) edged at home higher ranked Vitre (10-10) 69-67 on Tuesday. La Rochelle made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. La Rochelle outrebounded Vitre 42-29 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by British V.Islands forward Norville Carey (201-93, college: Rider, agency: BIG) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Keith Wright (203-89, college: Harvard) supported him with 8 points and 13 rebounds. La Rochelle's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 7 points and 11 rebounds by forward Vincent Fandelet (199-92) did not help to save the game for Vitre. American-Haitian guard Derric Jean (188-97, college: Louisiana Tech) added 10 points and 6 assists for the guests. La Rochelle moved-up to eighth place in Group A. Vitre lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Cergy-Pontoise. La Rochelle will meet at home league's second-placed Poitiers in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
