Regular Season Round 17: Hrunamenn - Alftanes 95-92

Important game to mention about took place in Fludir. Eighth ranked Hrunamenn (5-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Alftanes (11-5) 95-92 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 30-19 Alftanes' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 95-92 at the end of the game. Hrunamenn players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American forward Kent Hanson (198-97, college: Carleton) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Croatian Karlo Lebo (196-94) contributed with 30 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Cedrick Bowen (198-92, college: Charleston So.) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Slovenian forward Sinisa Bilic (202-89, agency: 011 Sports) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Alftanes. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hrunamenn maintains eighth place with 5-11 record. Alftanes at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. Hrunamenn will play against Hamar (#9) on the road in the next round. Alftanes will play against Selfoss (#6) and hope to get back on the winning track.
