The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Boras' (3-14) road loss to twelfth ranked Sparks (5-11) 59-82 on Friday. Sparks dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Boras' 20. They outrebounded Boras 52-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Tyra Whitehead (190-98, college: SJSU) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 20 rebounds. Power forward Ashley Harris (187-90, college: WSC) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Paige Cannon (185-96, college: Duquesne) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and center Rodjanae Wade (188-98, college: UNLV) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sparks moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Uppsala. Boras lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Sparks is looking forward to face higher ranked IK Eos (#8) in Lund in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Boras will play on the road against the league's leader Lulea Basket (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
