Regular Season Round 16: Maccabi T-A - H.Holon 80-79

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Winner League took place in Tel-Aviv. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Hapoel Holon (8-6) to sixth ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (9-6) 80-79 on Saturday evening. Maccabi Tel-Aviv made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. American guard Keenan Evans (191-96, college: Texas Tech) fired 21 points and 4 steals for the winners. American-Turkish guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach Giannis Sfairopoulos used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American center Michale Kyser (208-91, college: Louisiana Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import Chris Johnson (198-90, college: Dayton) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Hapoel Holon at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with H.Tel-Aviv. Maccabi Tel-Aviv are looking forward to face Galil Gilboa (#11) in Rosh Pina in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Holon will play at home against the league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
