There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Padova V. (8-9) won against on the road 6th ranked Vicenza (9-8) 83-73 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Pietro Bocconcelli (193-98) who scored 23 points. Point guard Giacomo Cecchinato (186-1) chipped in 17 points. Padova V.'s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91, agency: SLN) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Andrea Mazzucchelli (187-94, agency: SLN) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Padova V.. They maintain ninth place with 8-9 record, which they share with R.Calabria and Teramo. Loser Vicenza dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Desio and Fiorenzuola. Padova V. will meet at home higher ranked San Vendemiano (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
