Regular Season Round 17: Froya Basket - Kongsberg 85-104

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Froya Basket (17-5) in Laksevag on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Kongsberg (14-6) 104-85. Croatian Marin Mornar (205-93, college: LMU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Serbian guard Ognjen Nisavic (195-92, agency: Jones Sports International) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Kongsberg players scored in double figures. American Wayne Stewart Jr (201, college: A&M-Commerce) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 13 rebounds and 9 blocks and Cuban-American guard Juan Ferrales (187-91, college: Barry) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kongsberg maintains third place with 14-6 record having five points less than leader Froya Basket. Froya Basket at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Kongsberg are looking forward to face Baerum Basket (#4) in Bekkestua in the next round. Froya Basket will play on the road against the league's second-placed Gimle BBK in Bergen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
