Regular Season Round 18: Granada - Valladolid 89-75

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Valladolid (7-9) was defeated on the road by third ranked Granada (13-4) 89-75 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Granada especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Pere Tomas (202-89, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Senegalese center Mamadou Niang (209-94) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American center Kavion Pippen (208-96, college: SIU) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and center Sergio De La Fuente (198-89) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Granada moved-up to second place. Loser Valladolid dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Granada will meet Palma (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valladolid will play against Coruna (#5) and hope to secure a win.
