There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Desio (9-8) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Fiorenzuola (9-8) 71-67 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was power forward Giacomo Filippini (204-91) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds. Lorenzo De Zardo (199-99, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Fiorenzuola players scored in double figures. Naturalized Bulgarian guard Georgi Sirakov (185-92) produced 21 points and naturalized Albanian forward Nikola Ivanaj (197-0) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Desio's coach Gabriele Ghirelli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fiorenzuola moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vicenza and Desio. Fiorenzuola will meet Vicenza (#7) on the road in the next round. Desio will play against Mestre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
