Regular Season Round 15: RSU - TalTech 89-63

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Latvian RSU (6-7) rolled over 7th ranked Estonian TalTech (6-8) in Riga 89-63 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by RSU. TalTech managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to TalTech's 32. RSU forced 19 TalTech turnovers and outrebounded them 39-22 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Enija Viksne (178-4) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Swingman Anita Mikelsone (178-1) accounted for 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Sofia Kosareva (170-98) came up with 15 points and Annika Koster (182-92) added 14 points respectively for TalTech in the defeat. RSU moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted TalTech dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. RSU will meet LCC Tarp. (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. TalTech will play against Tallina U. (#9) in Tallinn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
