There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Fabriano (3-12) beat at home higher ranked RO Eurobasket (7-8) 95-86 on Sunday. Fabriano made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: GWU) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Marco Santiangeli (192-91, agency: Players Group) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Fabriano players scored in double figures. Point guard Eugenio Fanti (184-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Kyndahl Hill (201-94, college: Weber St.) added 22 points and 11 rebounds respectively for RO Eurobasket in the defeat. Newly promoted Fabriano maintains fourteenth place in A2 with 3-12 record. Loser RO Eurobasket dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Fabriano will meet at home higher ranked Chiusi (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. RO Eurobasket will play against Latina (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
