Regular Season Round 19: Prat - Girona 85-89

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 14th ranked Prat (7-11) was defeated at home by fifteenth ranked Girona (6-10) 89-85 on Tuesday. Girona made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for point guard Josep Franch (192-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 assists. Norwegian forward Karamo Jawara (203-91, college: NCCU) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Girona players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard TJ Crockett (185, college: Lindenwood) responded with 29 points and 6 rebounds and guard Arnau Parrado (203-0) scored 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Girona maintains fifteenth place with 6-10 record, which they share with Juaristi ISB. Prat at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Girona will meet at home higher ranked Castello (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prat will play against Oviedo (#5) and hope to secure a win.
