Regular Season Round 15: Aistes-LSMU - LCC Tarp. 80-36

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked LCC Tarp. (0-14) was outscored by fifth ranked Aistes-LSMU (9-8) in Kaunas 80-36 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Aistes-LSMU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding LCC Tarp. to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Aistes-LSMU held LCC Tarp. to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Aistes-LSMU forced 30 LCC Tarp. turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by LCC Tarp.'s players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Gedvile Savostaite (180-2) who led the winners and scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Martyna Petrenaite (181-98, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Forward Guste Draksaite (184-0) came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Laurita Jurciute (178-98) added 13 points respectively for LCC Tarp. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aistes-LSMU maintains fifth place with 9-8 record. LCC Tarp. lost their fourteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 14 games lost. Aistes-LSMU will meet at home league's leader TTT Riga in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. LCC Tarp. will play against Liepaja/LSSS (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
