Regular Season Round 22: Seagulls - Lahti 87-81
Date: February 2, 2022
Very predictable result when third ranked Seagulls (14-7) won against 9th ranked Lahti (8-13) in Helsinki 87-81. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Lahti was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Seagulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. International Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valpo) scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Kenny Manigault (195-91, college: Pikeville) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Antonio Ballard (194-88, college: Miami, OH) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Chris Clarke (196-96, college: Texas Tech) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Seagulls maintains third position with 14-7 record having five points less than leader Kauhajoki. Lahti lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 13 games lost. Seagulls will play against bottom-ranked Korihait (#12) in Uusikaupunki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lahti will play on the road against KTP Basket in Kotka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
