Regular Season Round 19: Valladolid - Coruna 78-100

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Coruna (10-7) smashed on the road 13th ranked Valladolid (7-10) 100-78 on Wednesday. Coruna shot 61.8 percent from the field and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Coruna had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. It was a great evening for British forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: LMU) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Nick Ward (203-97, college: Michigan St.) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Alec Wintering (183-95, college: Portland) responded with 15 points and 8 steals and Latvian Davis Geks (194-95) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Coruna have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Castello and Oviedo. Valladolid lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Coruna will meet at home league's second-placed Granada in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valladolid will play against Acunsa GBC (#8) in San Sebastian and hope to secure a win.
