Very expected game when 8th ranked Jurmala (6-6) was defeated at home by top-ranked RSU 2 (13-0) 53-48 on Thursday. Jurmala was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 18-10 charge of RSU 2, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 25 Jurmala turnovers. Katrina Ozola (188-4) fired 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Liza Cumika (181-99) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. RSU 2's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Latvian swingman Paula Petersone (168-4) produced 23 points and Latvian Aleksa Purmale (177-1) added 4 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. RSU 2 have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-0 record. Loser Jurmala dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
