Regular Season Round 19: Estudiantes - Melilla 76-66

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Estudiantes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Estudiantes defeated 12th ranked Melilla in Madrid 76-66. It was a great shooting night for Estudiantes especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Danish center Kevin Larsen (208-93, college: GWU) fired 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Brazilian center Felipe Dos Anjos (218-98) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91) produced 16 points and center Sergio Mendiola (207-96) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Melilla lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with nine games lost. Melilla will play next round against Alicante trying to get back on the winning streak. Estudiantes will try to continue on its current victory against seventeenth ranked Palma in S'Arenal.
