Regular Season Round 15: IR - Thor Thorl 88-90

Ninth-ranked IR (6-9) made lots of trouble for third ranked Thor Thorl (11-4) in Reykjavik. The visitors from Thorlakshofn managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of IR. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But IR won fourth quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thor Thorl players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Glynn Watson Jr (185-97, college: Nebraska) who led his team to a victory with 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Danish forward Daniel Mortensen (204-94, college: Barry) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-French forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St., agency: Octagon Europe) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 blocks and American guard Triston Simpson (188, college: S.Dakota) added 28 points and 8 assists in the effort for IR. Thor Thorl have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. IR at the other side keeps the ninth place with nine games lost. Thor Thorl will play against Keflavik (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. IR will play against Thor AK (#12) in Akureyri and hopes to get back on the winning track.
