The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Alkar's (5-14) road loss to tenth ranked Osijek (6-12) 78-90 on Friday. Osijek dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Alkar's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian-South Sudanese guard Jackson Makoi (196-0, college: Daytona St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Bosnian center Djordje Topolovic (208-1) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Naturalized Australian swingman Dominic Gilbert (201-96, college: UBC, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Patrick McGlynn (188-92, college: URI, agency: GoEmpire Group) scored 18 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Alkar's coach Vladimir Krstic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Osijek moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sibenka. Loser Alkar dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Osijek will meet higher ranked Cibona (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alkar will play against Sibenka (#8) and hope to secure a win.
