Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Sparks (6-13) lost to eighth ranked IK Eos (8-10) in Lund 85-99 on Saturday. IK Eos made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Doniyah Cliney (182-96, college: S.Carolina) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Danish forward Laura Ziegler (186-2) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Tyra Whitehead (190-98, college: SJSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import power forward Ashley Harris (187-90, college: WSC) added 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Sparks in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sparks' coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. IK Eos maintains eighth place with 8-10 record. Loser Sparks dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. IK Eos will meet higher ranked A3 Basket (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sparks will play against Mark (#7) in Kinna and hope to secure a win.
