Regular Season Round 19: La Matanza - Pozuelo 56-63

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked La Matanza (8-9) lost to first ranked Pozuelo (17-4) in Las Palmas 56-63 on Saturday. Pozuelo outrebounded La Matanza 51-30 including a 43-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) who led the winners and scored 6 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Alberto Arias (188-89) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Swingman Imobach Gonzalez (193-93) came up with 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Romen Hernandez (200-91) added 11 points respectively for La Matanza in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pozuelo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 17-4 record. Loser La Matanza dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Pozuelo will meet at home Torta del Casar (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Matanza will play against Tenerife Naut. in Santa Cruz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
