There was a surprise result in Tromdheim where tenth ranked Nidaros Jets (2-19) defeated second-ranked Gimle BBK (15-5) 67-62 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American power forward Chris Carter (205-92, college: LIU Brooklyn) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Christian Tofte chipped in 7 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Nidaros Jets' coach Thor Overmo used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Ali Ouakkaha (187-90, college: Cuesta JC) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Reidar Greve (184-2) added 26 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Nidaros Jets maintains tenth place with 2-19 record. Defending champion Gimle BBK keeps the second position with five games lost. Nidaros Jets will meet at home higher ranked Ammerud Bskt (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gimle BBK will play against the league's leader Froya Basket (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
