Everything went according to plan when second ranked Lithuanian Kibirkstis (13-1) beat on the road 4th ranked Latvian Liepaja/LSSS (11-4) 72-54 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 37-15 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kibirkstis dominated on the defensive end, holding Liepaja/LSSS to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Kibirkstis had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Livija Sakeviciute (188-99) fired 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. French swingman Camille Droguet (178-99) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kibirkstis players scored in double figures. Latvian guard Raivita Korenika (182-1) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Ance Aizsila (178-94) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Lithuanian champion maintains second position with 13-1 record having seven points less than leader RSU 2. Loser Liepaja/LSSS keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Kibirkstis will meet at home TalTech (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
