The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Almeria as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group D-A. Almeria defeated 3rd placed La Zubia at home 81-67. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of La Zubia. They outrebounded La Zubia 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Chadian center Edmond Koyanouba (207-95) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Luis Rueda (186-96) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Almeria players scored in double figures. Forward Eloy Almazan (199-84) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Javier Hernandez (201-93, agency: Promo Sport ID) added 13 points in the effort for La Zubia. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. La Zubia at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. La Zubia will play next round against strong Benahavis trying to get back on the winning streak. Almeria will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked CAM E.Soler 2 in Melilla.
