There was no surprise when 8th ranked Torta del Casar (6-10) lost to third ranked Huelva Com. (12-4) in Caceres 68-79 on Sunday. Huelva Com. made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Huelva Com. outrebounded Torta del Casar 43-31 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Federico Ristori (194-96) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Lithuanian center Deividas Mockaitis (213-96, college: Antelope Valley) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Juan Santos (196-2) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Edu Chacon (180-99) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for Torta del Casar in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Torta del Casar's coach Iago Castro rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Huelva Com. maintains third place in Group D-B with 12-4 record having just two points less than leader Lliria. Torta del Casar lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Huelva Com. will meet at home Xerez (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Torta del Casar will play against the league's leader Pozuelo (#1) and hope to secure a win.
