Rather expected game in Turun where 9th ranked Kouvot Ak. (6-10) was rolled over by sixth ranked Kristika Turku (8-5) 102-83 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kristika Turku. Kouvot Ak. managed to win fourth quarter 29-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kristika Turku looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mikael Aalto (205-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Teemu Sulonen (188-94) who added 21 points during the contest. Kristika Turku's coach Juha Ruohonen used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Joel Mantynen (199-2) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Daniel Rantapaju (182-4) scored 21 points. Four Kristika Turku and five Kouvot Ak. players scored in double figures. Kristika Turku moved-up to fifth place in 1st Division. Loser Kouvot Ak. keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Kristika Turku will meet at home league's leader ToPo Juniorit in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kouvot Ak. will play against MuKi (#12) and hope to secure a win.
