There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (7-8) lost to tenth ranked Hapoel Eilat (7-9) in Nes Ziyona 68-85 on Monday. American point guard Toney Douglas (189-1986, college: FSU) nailed 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Bryon Allen (192-1992, college: GMU) accounted for 19 points. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. American guard Frank Bartley IV (191-1994, college: La-Lafayette, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Golan Gutt (195-1994) added 18 points respectively for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to ninth place. Loser Ironi Nes-Ziona keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Hapoel Eilat will meet at home higher ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Hapoel Beer Sheva (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
