Second Stage Round 6: Triglav - Montana 82-87

The game in Kranj was quite interesting. Third ranked Bulgarian Montana (8-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Slovenian Triglav (2-10). Montana managed to secure a 5-point victory 87-82 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Triglav won fourth quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Triglav 37-25 including 22 on the defensive glass. Montana looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American swingman Mariah King (188-90, college: EIU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Santa Okockyte-Baltkojiene (175-92) contributed with 24 points and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Gala Kramzar (180-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and Manca Vrecer (178-2) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Triglav. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Montana have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Montana maintains third position with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Celje. Triglav lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
