Regular Season Round 18: Tromso - Baerum Basket 76-94

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Tromso (10-13) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Baerum Basket (15-8) 94-76 on Tuesday. Baerum Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Stian Mjoes (183-89) scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: UNH) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Worth to mention Gilchrese played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Rasheed Worrell (203-96, college: Lynn, agency: One Motive Sports) with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Johannes Lange (182-98) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Tromso's coach Pal Berg rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Baerum Basket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Tromso lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Baerum Basket will meet Asker Aliens (#6) on the road in the next round. Tromso will play against Nidaros Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
