Very expected game when 13th ranked Algeciras (5-12) was crushed on the road by first ranked Ourense (12-4) 98-55 on Wednesday. Ourense outrebounded Algeciras 42-25 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Ourense looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Algeciras' players. The best player for the winners was Latvian guard Edgars Lasenbergs (187-95) who scored 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Point guard Javier Marin (190-92) chipped in 6 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Ourense's coach Armando Gomez felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Jamaican-Canadian guard Jamal Reynolds (193-94, college: Canisius) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Gibraltar point guard Miguel Ortega (187-91) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Ourense maintains first place in Silver with 12-4 record. Loser Algeciras keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost.
