Rather predictable result in Hevel Modi'in where second ranked Hapoel H/M (15-5) defeated 6th ranked M.Haifa (10-8) 91-84 on Wednesday. Hapoel H/M made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Hapoel H/M outrebounded M.Haifa 38-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St., agency: Slash Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor) chipped in 20 points. Hapoel H/M's coach Yehu Orland used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Kwame Vaughn (190-90, college: CS Fullerton) who recorded 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Daniel Koperberg (208-97) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Hapoel H/M and five M.Haifa players scored in double figures. Hapoel H/M have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-5 record having just three point less than leader I.Nahariya. Loser M.Haifa keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Hapoel H/M will meet M.Ashdod (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. M.Haifa will play against Ramat Hash. (#3) in Ramat Hasharon and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Winner League just one year after relegation.
