There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Ponferrada (9-8) outscored at home 5th ranked Zamora (10-7) 81-56 on Wednesday. Ponferrada looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Guillermo Mulero (191-97, agency: Duran International) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian center Luka Majstorovic (208-96, college: Embry Riddle, agency: SLN) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Bobby Harris (185-91, college: AIC, agency: Duran International) produced 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-92, college: Idaho St.) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ponferrada maintains seventh place in Silver with 9-8 record. Loser Zamora keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Ponferrada will meet higher ranked Burgos (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zamora will play against Marbella and hope to secure a win.
