Regular Season Round 18: Asker Aliens - Centrum 85-59

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Centrum (2-19) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Asker Aliens (12-10) 85-59 on Wednesday. Asker Aliens shot 21 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Centrum only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded Centrum 49-18 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Haakon Hellebust (196-96) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Stian Berg (187-91, college: Nova SE) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Berg is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Giorgos Kotrotsios (-99) with 16 points and 4 steals and forward Georg Helvik (201-3) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Centrum's coach Inge-Aleksander Kristiansen gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Asker Aliens maintains sixth position with 12-10 record. Centrum lost thirteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. Asker Aliens will meet at home higher ranked Baerum Basket (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Centrum will play against the league's leader Froya Basket (#1) in Laksevag and hope to secure a win.
