Regular Season Round 23: Borisfen - Rubon 93-71

The game between Top Four teams took place in Mogilev. First ranked host Borisfen (19-1) smashed 3rd placed Rubon (14-8) 93-71. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-71. Borisfen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rubon's 32 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Borisfen forced 26 Rubon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Ilya Sharipov (198-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) helped adding 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. The former international forward Victor Ovsepyan (202-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Russian forward Marsel Ovsepyan (202-90) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Borisfen have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-1 record. Rubon at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Borisfen are looking forward to face league's second-placed Tsmoki II in Minsk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rubon will play on the road against Tsmoki-Minsk U20 and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
