There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Alcobendas (11-9) lost at home to eighth ranked Zentro Basket 2 (9-11) 62-52 on Saturday. Zentro Basket 2 had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zentro Basket 2 made 7 blocks. The winners were led by Victor Li Lin (193-98) who scored that evening 10 points and 5 rebounds and DR Congolese center Ken Baoko (202-3) supported him with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by forward Alejandro Fortes (204-90) did not help to save the game for Alcobendas. Jorge Tejera (200-92) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Zentro Basket 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Zentro Basket 2 maintains eighth position in Group B with 9-11 record, which they share with Tenerife Naut. Loser Alcobendas keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Zentro Basket 2 will meet at home bottom-ranked Quintanar (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Alcobendas will play against Fuenlabrada 2 (#12) in Madrid and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the LEB Silver just one year after relegation.
