Regular Season Round 17: RIG Lulea - AIK 2 87-72

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked RIG Lulea (6-9) won against at home 9th ranked AIK 2 (4-9) 87-72 on Saturday. They outrebounded AIK 2 47-25 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. RIG Lulea looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center William Humer (203-2) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and center William Berg (214-3) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four RIG Lulea players scored in double figures. Hugo Akerhielm (190-3) came up with 26 points and Valter Lumpus added 19 points respectively for AIK 2 in the defeat. AIK 2's coach Reino Toomson tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for RIG Lulea. They maintain seventh place with 6-9 record. Newly promoted AIK 2 keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. RIG Lulea will meet at home KFUM Sundsvall (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AIK 2 will play against Umea 2 and hope to secure a win.
